*****SCHEDULING UPDATE 8/29/2021*****

Representatives from the Union Pacific Railroad announced this morning that the crews replacing rail ties in the area have moved faster than expected. As a result, work on at-grade crossings in the Coweta area is programmed to begin on August 31st rather than September 9th as previously announced. Local drivers can expect intermittent closures of the crossings at 151st, 136th, 131st, and 128th Streets beginning on August 31st. Drivers in the area are reminded to pay close attention to the direction provided by the traffic control signage in those areas while the work progresses.

That same asphalt crew will return to Coweta later in September to add permanent asphalt to the at-grade crossings listed above. The schedule for that work will be announced by the railroad at a later date.

As always, the exact days for scheduled construction work is flexible due to weather and other factors. Drivers in the affected areas are encouraged to remain alert and pay close attention to the direction of the traffic control signage provided by the railroad.
