DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON THE ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE 849, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COWETA, OKLAHOMA, AMENDING PART 7, FINANCE AND TAXATION, CHAPTER 5, USE TAX, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF COWETA, OKLAHOMA, SPECIFICALLY AMENDING SAME BY CORRECTING THE TITLE OF SECTION 5-503, EXCISE TAX ON STORAGE, USE OR OTHER CONSUMPTION OF INTANGIBLE, PERSONAL PROPERTY LEVIED, TO PROVIDE EXCISE TAX ON STORAGE, USE OR OTHER CONSUMPTION OF TANGIBLE, PERSONAL PROPERTY LEVIED, AMENDING SECTION 5-503 BY INCREASING THE RATE OF TAX TO FOUR PERCENT (4%) OF THE PURCHASE PRICE, AMENDING SECTION 5-504, PURPOSE OF REVENUES, TO PROVIDE THAT THE ONE-PERCENT INCREASE (1%) IN THE USE TAX SHALL BE UTILIZED SOLELY FOR PURPOSES SET FORTH IN SECTION 7 OF THE CITY OF COWETA SPECIAL SALES TAX ORDINANCE NO. 844; REPEALING ALL PRIOR ORDINANCES TO THE CONTRARY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. REQUEST FOR AN EXECUTIVE SESSION FOR THE PURPOSES OF CONFIDENTIAL COMMUNICATIONS AND DISCUSSIONS RELATED TO THE EMPLOYMENT, SALARY AND BENEFITS OF INDIVIDUAL SALARIED PUBLIC OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES (CITY MANAGER), IN ACCORDANCE WITH 25 O.S.307.B.1.

THE CITY COUNCIL MAY TAKE ANY ACTION DEEMED NECESSARY BY THE CITY COUNCIL ARISING OUT OF THE DISCUSSIONS IN THE FOREGOING EXECUTIVE SESSION.
