911 and Non-Emergency Lines are Working in Coweta

FRIDAY 10/11 9:00 AM -- Yesterday evening, 911 service and non-emergency phone service through Coweta dispatching was restored. It does appear at this time that a lightning strike is the culprit for yesterday's loss of service. Evaluations continue today, but we do believe there is some damage to some of our communications equipment. However, calls for service or information via both emergency (911) and non-emergency (918-483-2121) are being handled through normal channels routing through Coweta dispatch again. Thank you!

THURSDAY 10/10 4:30 pm -- 911 services have been temporarily disrupted by the storm that went through this afternoon. Windstream is on site to diagnose and correct the problem. In the meantime, 911 callers are being routed to Wagoner County. Non-emergency calls to our police station are being routed to Wagoner County Sheriff’s Office and then rerouted to Coweta via cell phones and radio traffic. All calls will be handled, but we wanted everyone to know why Wagoner County may be picking up when you dial 911 from Coweta or the police non-emergency line.
