Fall Festival is Here Again (Almost)

People in line for a ride at the 2012 Fall Festival

The 45th annual Fall Festival event is coming this week and drivers need to be prepared for some minor changes to their normal routes. Starting at noon on Wednesday the 11th, Broadway will be closed from Chestnut to Pecan in order for the carnival to be setup. Local drivers can bypass Broadway by using Bristow or Division on the west side of Broadway, and Delaware or Guthrie on the east side of Broadway. Large vehicle traffic should use the routes posted in the notification system utilized by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. Normal traffic on Broadway will resume the morning of September 15th.

The Chamber of Commerce and the Coweta Rotary Club are sponsoring their second annual bike ride on Saturday the 14th. The ride will consist of 20, 30, and 60 mile routes that will take riders into various parts of Wagoner County. All rides will begin at Coweta High School on 305th East Avenue and end at the corner of Pecan and Broadway in downtown Coweta. Drivers are urged to use extra caution that morning to avoid inadvertent conflicts with the bike riders. Routes for the rides can be found at
