The Coweta Police takes great pride in announcing the promotions of the following officers to their respective ranks.

Congratulations to our newest Sergeant. Officer Bobby Pickett has been selected as our department’s newest Sergeant. He will fill the vacant spot left by Detective Ford who accepted a position with Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation back in April. We are extremely excited for Sergeant Pickett who will assume his new position and title effective August 16th, 2020. Sergeant Pickett has been with our department since November 2014 and has held several positions within our department and coordinated many of the events that the citizens of Coweta enjoy, such as the patriotic festival, Coweta Fall Festival, and our yearly Christmas Parade. If you see Sergeant Pickett performing his duties stop and congratulate him for his dedication to the Coweta Community and hard work.

Congratulations to our newest Corporal. Officer Austin King was selected to fill the position of Corporal and will be assigned to shift 2 or midnights. A corporal’s job is to assist the Shift Sergeant in maintaining administrative, department directives and policies in the absence of the Sergeant. They are considered the shift leader when the sergeant is not present. Officer King was hired in January 2013 as a dispatcher and then in October of 2013 he assumed a position as patrolman. He has held many positions and titles with the department. He currently holds the positions of Drone pilot, major accident reconstructionist, and Field Training Officer. If you see Corporal King tell him congratulations.

Congratulations to our newest Corporal. Officer Curtis Paslay was selected to fill the position of Corporal and will be assigned to shift 1 or Days. A corporal’s job is to assist the Shift Sergeant in maintaining administrative, department directives and policies in the absence of the Sergeant. They are considered the shift leader when the sergeant is not present. Officer Paslay was hired in April 2014 as a patrolman. Currently Corporal Paslay is a major accident reconstructionist. If you see Corporal Paslay tell him congratulations.
