City Council Adopts Resolution, Declares Emergency, Restricts Gatherings

At a Special Meeting held on March 23rd the Coweta City Council adopted Resolution 2020-10 declaring that a state of emergency exists in Coweta related to the Covid-19 pandemic. This resolution prohibits public gatherings of ten persons or more, including faith-based, spiritual, fund-raising, school or education, or social gatherings; encourages certain businesses to utilize alternate methods to provide service to their customers, and provides for the closure of businesses not following the recommendations listed during the term of the civil emergency. The resolution and its restrictions went into effect immediately upon passage and will remain in effect until 7:00pm on April 6th unless further extended.
